Title Explanations and Salvage Re-Titling process
SALVAGE TITLE
A salvage title is assigned to a vehicle that has been declared a total loss due to Fire, Vandalism, Collision, Theft or Flood. A salvage vehicle such as a theft or flood may have minimal damage or no damage at all. A salvage vehicle cannot be registered or legally driven until a reconstructed/rebuilt/reconditioned title has been issued by your state motor vehicles. Some of our vehicles come with a NY-907A salvage certificate, issued by NY State. Make sure your home state accepts such certificates before a reconstructed/rebuilt title is issued.
Each state has its own rules and regulations governing vehicles with salvage titles. You can familiarize yourself with your particular state’s salvage inspection procedures by using the appropriate links below. Most states have online information regarding salvage vehicle registrations/inspections on its motor vehicle websites (see below links). In most states, the salvage inspection process involves filling out one or two salvage application forms, paying a small fee and having the car checked out by your motor vehicles or state police after repairs. We are very familiar with the NJ and NY salvage vehicle inspection/retitling process and can help guide you through the process.
